No. The EPA has stated there is no safe level of lead in drinking water. The EPA action level of 15 ppb (parts per billion) is a regulatory trigger for public systems — not a safe level. Certified laboratory testing is the only way to know if lead is present in your water.
NYS 3Ts (Training, Testing, and Taking Action) requires periodic certified lead testing at all school and childcare facility water outlets. NYS ELAP certified results and compliance reports are accepted by NYS DOH and local health departments.
